Batman: Dead in the comics, but Live! on stage.

For those of you who remember, I wrote and directed the national tour of Spider-Man Live! back in 2002-2003, so it’s with great interest that I saw that DC is announcing it’s plans for Batman Live! Written by animation great, Alan Burnett, who coincidentally has an office a few doors down from mine at Warner Bros., the Hollywood Reporter describes it as neither a musical nor a Broadway-bound theatrical production but rather an elaborate arena production aimed at kids and families. Interestingly enough, the current DC comics storyline has Bruce Wayne’s Batman coming back from the (supposed) grave in the coming year, so it’s perfect timing for Batman Live!

  1. Batman is dead? So they’re gonna come up with 4 new comics – Batboy, Steelbat, Red eyed cyborg bat, and who was the other one? Can’t remember. I think he just had long hair or something.
